The Fig Tree

In order to understand endtime signs, we must first understand the parable of the fig tree.

"Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer [is] nigh. So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, [even] at the doors. Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled. Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. Matt. 24:32-35

The secrets of God and the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven are hidden in the parables. Our Lord revealed them to His disciples then, and He will also reveal them to us if we seek him with all our hearts.

Parable of the Fig Tree

What are the mysteries hidden in the parable of the fig tree?

As Christians He will deal with us as individuals, just as He had dealt with Israel as a nation in the OT. Whenever Israel (His people) walked in disobedience, idolatry & abominations, (these are acts of Unbelief in God), God allowed the enemies to conquer them.

Finally, God allowed the Babylonians to ransack Jerusalem and left Israel desolate. When Israel (fig tree) walked in Unbelief (leaves only and without any fruit), God allowed the enemies to conquer them (cut off).

From these scriptures we understand that fig tree represents Israel, Bearing much fruit - Faith in God, Leaves without fruit - Unbelief.
